So HOW do we make sure you get that?
Here is a step-by-step guide to getting your perfect custom emotes!
- Find an Artist! Seeing that you came to this specific page, you probably already know. But did you know that even if Rowen isn't the right fit for you, he knows a LOT of great other custom emote artists! This guide will focus on how you get custom emotes right here but you can still send him a message, tell him what you are looking for and he will point you in the right direction. If you want to do some research yourself, a simple trick is searching on Twitter through the hashtags #commissionsopen #lookingforwork or #emoteartist
Note: This is also the moment you should be looking at prices! Artist have prices set 90% of the time and a lot of artist will actually refuse to take your commission if you try to get out of those set prices. What you can do is let them know immediately from the start that you would like to talk about budget, and a lot of artists (I do this too) will gladly help you look for a solution that fits your budget and the artist's pricing.
A general rule of thumb for pricing is as followed:
<€15 per emote: This artists is underpriced. Do NOT commission this person OR do commission them and tip them till the point of the price being €15 per emote. But most importantly: Make them aware that underpricing is not the way to do propper business!
€15 per emote: This should be the minimum price for an emote. Meaning you should expect decent emotes that should suffice. Don't expect the artist to go above and beyond though. You need to look at this as if it is like working for minimum wage.
>€15 per emote: These emotes should be exactly what you want! The artists with this pricing have faith in their quality and put in the needed time and effort to make sure you get emotes that radiate your energy and vibe! You can expect them to do some propper research and more often then not they will not hesitate to plan an extra revision if they deem it needed to ensure quality. - Fill in the form below as accurately as possible and you will be contacted about realizing your emotes as soon as possible. Felling in the right info also helps the artist do some research beforehand.
- Then we will make an appointment to have a quick chat and make sure you like your artists and the artists knows who your are, what kind of energy you give off and what you dream/purpose is. Make sure you already prepare a little for this by looking if your artist streams for example and if you would be okay with them streaming the process and you could already be looking at what kind of emotes you want. Do you have ideas specific to your channel or maybe a basic expression but visualized as you?(or the character that represents you) The most popular ones on twitch for example are:
- Vibe emotes (like Catjam)
- Laughter emotes (like KEKW and LUL)
- Slightly provocative emotes (like kappa or lipbite)
- Wave emotes
- Stressed emotes (like a leaving emote or sweating or confused)
- Then it's time for you to do what you are best at and the artist to do what they are best at. The emotes are being produced!
- After the initial sketches are done the artist will plan a first revision with you to decide if you like the ideas of the emotes or if you want some of them to be visualized differently in a brought sense. Keep in mind that these are concept sketches and if you need the artist do also create a character for you, they might bother you a bit more here and there to get your opinion on the character.
- After the artist used your feedback to great some great emotes they will plan another revision with you where you can give more concrete feedback to the emotes that, at that point, will look more like how they would look in a finished state. Be honest and tell them what you like and don't like. The artist will take your opinion very seriously and finalize them afterwards.
- As the emotes should be done by now the artist will plan a final chat with you to uphold quality assurance.
If you don't like what you see here, there are still solutions to the problem. The fact that you don't have revisions anymore doesn't mean you just have to take the result! Talk to your artist and get to an understanding.
If you are happy with the result the artist will send you all the files you need. You can tell them, when they will be allowed to share them on their social media and finally they will probably beg you to leave a nice review... which you should ... come on.... they did a good job right? - At this point you should have your own unique custom emotes! Congratulations! ps. don't forget to pay the other half of your commission if you agreed to pay 50% upfront and 50% after delivery of the product.
